Oh shit, did you see the way she got her toes did?

December 3, 2007

Kid Sister is my ish. Her sound is so fresh, and unique, and through her I have become acquainted with an entire sub-genre that I never knew existed, and is definitely my new favourite party music. Thank You Kid Sis. DJ A Trak is my ish. He is hands down my favourite DJ ever. Incredibly talented and continually innovative. Just insane behind the tables, and he’s a great producer too. And of course, kanYe West. What needs to be said about kanYe (condolences on the loss of his mother).

Bring them all together, and you got yourself one massive banger with actual musicality. Well done folks. Fools Gold up in this place. Can’t wait for Kid Sister to drop something more than singles (although, I’d be happy to get more of those too.)

It’s been a long time…

August 9, 2007

It’s been far, far too long since I made a post. But here I am, posting. Crazy huh? Y’all probably thought I forgot about you. Not the case. In fact, I have something that will hopefully make up for the long absence. First off, I am announcing a new beat-tape by Vinyl Meltdown’s own Remot. He has been furiously behind the boards, putting together “Beat Street,” a compilation of instrumentals that are like music to your ears. 19 tracks long, this tape is sure to give you a good feel of what Remot is all about.

Next is this: I am going to be devoting some good time into making the site look nicer. It looks a little too generic for our tastes right now. We here at Vinyl Meltdown like to inject a little bit of flavor into everything we do, so why should our website be any different? Get ready for some spicy new images, and perhaps some contracted artwork from some of my art-school buddies.

Thirdly, a slew of videos that reflect what I have been listening to, and what I think you should check out.

Heartbreaker – Teriyaki Boyz

Constance – Mr. J Medeiros

Sunshine – Atmosphere

Here (in your arms) (remix) – Wonda

Bomb the Blocks (feat. Persia) – Bassnectar

Stronger – KanYe West

The People – Common

Hip Hop Police/Evening News – Chamillionaire (feat. Slick Rick)

Finally, I promise to be more regular, and to hit you guys with lots of music to check out. Sorry for the inconvenience, hopefully I’ve started to make it worth your while.

Get Live

July 3, 2007

I already gave y’all a write-up about the Strange Fruit Project, just came across their new video for “Get Live” which features Erykah Badu on the hook. Its a HOT track, and the video is pretty fly. I am still not having great internet, and my time is really being taken at the moment, but I’ll keep posting as much as I can. So just check the video, and get ready to be spoiled soon.
